How to Care for Leather

Leather asks for very little, but it does ask for something. Keep pieces away from prolonged direct sun and standing water. Wipe away dust and daily grime with a soft, dry cloth. Condition occasionally — not constantly — with a leather-appropriate balm, and let pieces rest between long stretches of daily use.
Most damage to leather goods comes not from age but from neglect: a wallet left in direct sun on a dashboard, a bag stored damp in a closet. Cared for reasonably, a full-grain leather piece will comfortably outlast the trends it was bought during.
